Take a traditional Mexican recipe and give it a Williams twist by enliving with any of our many Taco Seasonings. Zest it up by adding any fresh garnish such as cilantro, jalapeno, or even queso.
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup diced onion
1 pkg Williams Taco Seasoning, any flavor
1 can refried beans (16 ounces)
8 to 9 oz corn tortilla chips, slightly crushed
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 can tomato sauce (8 ounces)
Toppings as desired
Move oven rack to a lower position. Preheat oven to 350° F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray coating.
Cook ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until beef is browned and onion is tender; drain. Stir in Williams Taco Seasoning and cook, stirring frequently, about 1 minute. Stir in refried beans and cook, stirring frequently, until beans are hot.
Arrange tortilla chips evenly in prepared baking dish. Dollop spoonfuls of beef and bean mixture over chips. Sprinkle shredded cheese over chips, then drizzle with tomato sauce.
Cover with aluminum foil. Bake 30 minutes or until hot. Top, as desired, with toppings such as pickled jalapenos, diced tomatoes, sour cream, fresh chopped onion, sliced green onions or guacamole.
